Preview: IQ2 Debates Pull In Big Names

A new series of Intelligence Squared debates kicks off this week and, by the beard of Darwin, you won't find a more impressive bunch of speakers this side of the School of Athens.

On 9 March, there's a rare chance to catch the man who co-discovered of the structure of DNA, James Watson. The ageing scientist caused uproar when last he toured these shores thanks to his outspoken views on race. Watson will be in discussion with Brenda Maddox at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Tickets here.

16 March sees a constellation of space celebrities congregate at the Royal Geographical Society. Get this for a lineup: TV's Professor Brian Cox, Astronomer Royal Sir Martin Rees, mutton-chopped Beagle 2 leader Colin Pillinger, astronaut Charles Simonyi and author of the superb Age of Wonder Richard Holmes. Tickets here.

Finally, on 23 March, director Werner Herzog will be in conversation at Cadogan Hall for an evening of 'passions and digressions' about his career. Tickets here.
