London Food & Drink News: 31 March 2011

This Saturday, wine world personality Oz Clarke will be swilling, slurping and spitting his way through a tasting at Vinopolis as he focuses on a selection of some of his top 250 wines for 2011. Standard (£59) and VIP (£99) tickets are available online, with the latter including 30mins Q&A with Oz and a signed book. Early pressie for Mum, perhaps?

Mums will also be well catered for at Altitude 360 in the Millbank Tower. A £59 Mother's Day brunch on the 29th floor includes a cocktail on arrival and a selection of dishes from the crepe, egg, pasta and dessert stations located around the venue. Mum can then stay for the day with newspapers, unlimited teas, coffees and juices and, of course, an unparalleled panoramic view over London.

For those who don’t mind putting a bit more effort in, Wardour Street’s “Indian Tapas” restaurant, Imli has started to run weekly Saturday cooking classes. Here you’ll work with chef Samir Sadekar to make a selection of dishes from the menu before sitting down to lunch. The course runs this Saturday, plus the 9th and 16th of the month, and costs £45 including lunch.

This busy week has also seen the re-launch of McQueen Bar in Shoreditch, a homage to all things cool; and the launch of One For One at 141 Park Lane, a new addition to the luxury clubbing scene that’s sure to be popular with the paps. Sunday also sees the first monthly West Norwood Feast market, including a pop-up food fair at St. Luke's Church close to the station.
