Today marks the welcome return of the curiously cucumbery Hendrick’s brigade back into London.
Having last wowed and bemused us with their Horseless Carriage of Curiosities in association with Bompas and Parr, they’re now setting up a Refined Courtship Clinic in Covent Garden in a bid to romantically whip us all into shape in time for Valentine’s Day on Monday.
The clinic will be free to use, and offer advice and direction on “principles and customs from bygone eras”.
The sessions will be run by the unfortunately named Dr Humphrey Sixwivs and Mrs Isabella Forlornicate, and will begin with an intake of the obligatory Hendrick’s & tonic. Advice will be given on potentially useful topics such as polite body language and acceptable topics of conversation, plus the slightly less useful concept of how to read signals from a lady’s fan. Presumably there’s nothing on the increasingly important issue of Facebook etiquette, though.
