From next Monday, you can sell a minute of your time to artist Brian Lobel down Brixton Village Market.
One pound will grant Brian exclusive rights to a minute of your life which he will film, burn to DVD and install in a vending machine outside Brick Box in Brixton Market. That minute of your life will then be available to buy for a quid. Turning the rhetorical question into an actual transaction, people can actually have a minute of your time.
The project is called Carpe Minuta Prima (meaning - as you Latin lovers and Dead Poets' fans will already have worked out - seize the minute) and "playfully explores themes of economy, the value of our time and our work, the over-documenting of our lives and what it means to sign away your soul."
Will you sell a minute down the market? You can go and see Brian between 10am – 6pm on 21 – 26 February & 4 - 10 March at Brick Box, 41 Granville Arcade, SW9 8PS.
