There’s nothing quite like Bright Club. It’s basically a bunch of UCL academics talking about their work. But with jokes. Tonight, it’s back at the Wilmington Arms, with a mortarboard of academics trying to convince us that research really is fun.
Londonist favourite Helen Keen hosts. She’s not an academic, nor at UCL, but she’ll quip you into submission with her space-themed geekery. The stage will then be commanded by neuroscientists Zarinah Agnew and Benedetto Di Martino, psychologist Andrew Tolmie, philosopher Silvia Di Bianchi, and Valerie Wallace, an expert on dead philosopher and blogger Jeremy Bentham. Musical ‘genius’ will be provided by accordionist (?) Dan Woods.
Bright Club starts at 8pm at the Wilmington Arms, 69 Rosebery Avenue. Entry is £5, and you can pay on the door.
