Last Minute Listing: 50-Hour Improvathon @ Hoxton Hall

Fast becoming a London annual staple, the 50-Hour Improvathon returns to Hoxton Hall in Shoreditch.  A core corps of twenty-five actors and musicians will kick proceedings off tonight at 7pm and will be joined by thirty guest performers over the weekend.  Prepare to be taken back to 1977: New York's legendary Studio 50  is holding a disco dancing competition.  Expect competitors, film crews, paparazzi, glitterati, Maserattis* and the club's mysterious and eccentric owner.

This year's cast includes Canadian improv masters Mark Meer and Donovan Workun, British acting talent including Alan Cox and Oliver Senton, Londonist favourite Sarah-Louise Young and jazz musician Orphy Robinson.  The weekend is broken down into twenty-five two-hour episodes with a recap of what has happened so far at the beginning of each one.  Tickets can be bought for any two-hour episode or for the whole weekend.  There is a special ‘Family Episode’ (Sunday 1-3 pm) suitable for children.

More information and tickets can be found on the official website or on Facebook.
