Future Human Event: Data Journalism

If you work in the media or even occasionally glance at the news, you'll be aware of a growing trend for 'data journalism'. Freedom of information requests, open data from government departments, APIs from bodies such as TfL...all are being used by journalists (professional and 'citizen') to tell us more about the world around us. The phenomenon recently reached crescendos with the MP expenses scandal and the ongoing Wikileaks revelations.

The next Future Human event (9 February, The Book Club, Shoreditch) tackles this area via a panel debate and Q&A session. Headline news is that they've got Julian Assange's lawyer, Mark Stephens, for the panel. He'll be joined by journo Ben Leapman, who was instrumental in breaking the MP expenses scandal, and Martin Moore of the Media Standards Trust.

Tickets are £8. These events usually sell out, so best buy in advance.
