London's Biggest Gingerbread House @ The Langham

Forget Shard, Heron and Strata; London has a new entrant in the large building stakes. This one won’t be around for that long, though.

The Langham has just unveiled London’s biggest ever Gingerbread House. It’s currently taking pride of place in their Palm Court lounge amongst guests enjoying afternoon teas (apparently the best in London) made by the same hands which created the record-breaking calorific abode – pastry chef Cherish Finden and her team.

Sugar mice, ginger biscuits and macaroons all feature, but in case you were planning on taking a visit and slipping a sweetie or two into your pocket, note that the house comes complete with its very own security guard to prevent any manhandling or illicit mastication.

It’s perhaps not quite as impressive as the Bompas & Parr gingerbread Gherkin, but should at least be easy to find by following a misguided tourist's trail of breadcrumbs down Regent Street.

The house will be on display until the end of the month. Who then gets to eat it is unconfirmed. Visit The Langham website for more information.
