For those of us following the ongoing contretemps between bikers and Westminster council, the right to appeal the High Court's decision earlier this year to uphold the much-hated parking charge for motorbikes in the borough has been granted. Campaign group No To The Bike Parking Tax has always maintained that the £1 charge was introduced as a profit-making exercise which is supposedly against legislation that parking schemes should be revenue-neutral. The group has repeatedly organised demonstrations against the charge and clashed with Boris Johnson in person back in June when he allegedly threatened to withdraw bus lane usage for motorbikes. See here for details of the press release and visit Westminster City Hall on 5th November for some two-wheeled action. Photo by ultraBobban.
