Food Preview: The Towpath Festival

A scrub of land alongside the Regent's Canal in Dalston is the unlikely location for a food festival this weekend.

The Towpath Festival is centred, appropriately enough, around the Towpath Cafe, a relatively new venue that has stacked up acres of positive coverage since it opened at the beginning of the year. This weekend's festival will include street food from masters of the art including Jamon Jamon, Kolkata, the Meat Wagon, Chocstar, and more.

The event is a family-friendly one, though after dark things will take a turn toward the bacchanalian, with DJs spinning tunes and artists conjuring up new pieces. The event is free, but donations are being taken for the War Child charity. For those concerned by the high probability of inclement weather, most of the festival will be under tents, and a bonfire will keep punters warm.

Towpath Festival, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th October, from noon til midnight. Nearest station: Haggerston.
