Earlier this week, we ran a competition for tickets to Once Upon A Thames, a new play by Lunidea about the Thames whale... and we are happy to announce the winner! Sailorgirl romped away with a pair of tickets for her reason behind the whale's surprise appearance in 2006:
"Being the 10 year anniversary, London Eye party planners decided to give the wheel a good going over. Trouble struck however, when the hoses wouldn't reach and poor water pressure meant having to wash and rotate one carriage at a time; a costly waste of time and water. Someone heard about a whale who'd been stung by the financial crisis and had since turned his attentions to a high pressure cleaning service. Blow Whole Enterprises were called in. Problem averted. A whale of a time was had by all."
Congratulations Sailorgirl! Londonist readers can also book tickets at a special discounted rate: £15.00 for the highest rate tickets (normally £25.00). Quote "LONDONIST" when calling the Leicester Square theatre box office on 08448472475 or by booking online at the Leicester Square Theatre website: click on "buy tickets" and enter the promo code "LONDONIST" to get the special discount. Just three shows left before Once Upon A Thames takes off on a European tour! Check out our review of the production, coming later...
