Bring A 'Thing' To Oddball Wellcome Exhibition

Occasionally - oh so very occasionally - an arts press release does its job and describes its subject in an intelligible and alluring way. So it is with the blurb for the new THINGS exhibition at Wellcome Collection:

Between 12th and 19th October members of the public are invited to deposit an object they own in a bring-a-thing-athon. The object can be any single thing they own, be it special or boring, rare or common. The only stipulation is that it must be no bigger than their head.

As clear as a crystalline ghost, and equally mad. Artist Keith Wilson is the mastermind behind this novel show-and-tell.

Each object will be catalogued, photographed and labelled, and then placed on public display in a system of metal shelving representing the days of the week from Monday to Saturday. Sunday objects will be placed in museum display cabinets.

The 'things' will then be returned on 20-22 October.

Celebrities such as Jon Snow, Jo Brand, Peter Blake, Bompas and Parr and Sean Pertwee have already donated things. What would you add?
