UPDATE THE TRAIN TRIPS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED AS THE TRAINS ARE FAULTY. AMERSHAM HERITAGE DAY GOES AHEAD AS PLANNED. LONDON TRANSPORT MUSEUM SAY KEEP 'EM PEELED FOR RESCHEDULED DATES IN FUTURE.

Heritage Train Day offers trainspotters, families and the mildly transport curious a fun vintage trip between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Amersham on a 1938 tube train (pictured).

This Sunday, 12 September, the classic tube train and its retro companion electric locomotive, Engine No. 12, the "Sarah Siddons", will ferry train tourists out to zone 9 where the complementary festivities occur with Amersham Heritage Day. Expect clowns, an animal farm, Punch and Judy and a classic car display. We recommend wandering off to discover some of the excellent Bucks pubs in the area.

A free heritage bus service will run between Amersham Old Town and Amersham station. You can also visit the Amersham Museum free of charge when you show your Heritage Train ticket on arrival.

Heritage Train Day tickets must be booked in advance on 020 7565 7298. Visit www.ltmuseum.co.uk for journey details, timetable and to book online.
