Preview: Jimi Hendrix 40th Anniversary Tribute @ The Tabernacle

jimi h.jpg Jimi Hendrix was once quoted as saying: "When I die, I want people to play my music, go wild, and freak out an' do anything they wanna do." Well, in celebration of Jimi's life and music, that's exactly what an eclectic bunch of up and coming London bands intend to do.

With the performers covering the Hendrix classics in their own styles, this tribute night to the Guitar God is being held, fittingly, at the venue that was to be the setting of his last ever gig - 40 years to the day of his accidental and untimely death, at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill.

The line-up consists of Hogg, Cosmic Charlies, Alex Vargas, The Ryan O'Reilly Band , ONE, Hey Laura, Oli Wennink and The Ashbies,

A visit to Hendrix In Britain exhibition on the way there may be the perfect aperitif to the evening?

Saturday 18th September 2010. The Tabernacle, Talbot Road, Notting Hill. Doors: 7pm. Nearest Tube: Notting Hill Gate. Tickets £10 + booking fee
