Wembley Man In 30 Hour Clamping Protest

double yellows.jpg The change in law over clamping on private land didn't come soon enough for one man in Wembley who staged a 30 hour sit-in protest in his own car after it was clamped. Haroon Zafaryab offered to pay the initial £100 fine but declined to stump up the extra £265 release fee demanded by Citywatch Parking Enforcement who proceeded to plaster the windscreen with another 40 tickets and clamp the other three wheels of the car which smacks somewhat of vindictiveness and failed to make the car any less of an obstruction. Locals brought Mr Zafaryab food to sustain him throughout his vigil until Citywatch, presumably embarrassed by the attention, caved in and allowed him to pay £100 to escape their clutches.
