Did you know Regent's Park boasts an allotment these days, alongside its boating lake, open air theatre, sports pitches and various cafes?

The central London Royal Park started growing its own this spring and the kitchen garden is looking a picture right now. The tomatoes are ripening, the beans are lengthening, the flowers are dancing with bees and butterflies. Delicious.

Who needs clipped grass and fancy fountains when you can have statuesque lettuces, stately asparagus and ornamental cabbage?
