Not many events are targeted at 'folklorists, undertakers, storytellers, clergy, singers, mediums, anthropologists, vampires and historians'. But then the Folklore Society is a broad church. Their annual conference, this time themed around the cultural aspects of death, takes place this coming weekend in the appropriately sepulchral setting of Brompton Cemetery.

Speakers include our very own Scott Wood on the 'Unquiet Dead of England', as well as talks on Rossetti and his exhumed wife, premonitions of death, sin-eaters, the afterlife of a Bodmin witch and many other macabre matters.

Book your ticket (£30) by contacting the Folklore Society through their Facebook page. They're dying to meet you.
