Friday: Toad Hall! opens at the Scoop, More London this week. City Hall becomes Toad Hall in this adaptation of The Wind in the Willows by The Steam Industry Free Theatre and young people of Southwark. 6pm (Thurs-Sun, 1 hour performance).
Further along the Southbank you can watch films projected onto the National Theatre flytower on Fridays and Saturdays throughout August. Tonight at 10.15, Vanished London from the BFI National Archives.
Saturday: Explore the Royal Institution and find out about weather with a Family fun day between 11am-4pm (adults £5, kids £3), 21 Albermarle Street, W1.
Head for Hackney and the free Little London Fields festival between 11.30am-9pm.
Or wrap your ears round Hip Hop Shakespeare Live on the Riverside Terrace at the Royal Festival Hall at 5pm.
Sunday: Gunnersbury Park hosts the free London Mela 2010 between 1-8.30pm, W3
Africa Live takes over the gardens at Horniman Museum, SE23. Free admission, 1-5.30pm.
There’s an afternoon of free garden games at the Geffrye Museum, Kingsland Road E2, noon till 5pm.
The Quiz That Ate My Brain is a pub quiz comedy crossover show with comedians setting the questions on the Camden Fringe. 10.15pm, £4 per person, The Camden Head, NW1.
Monday: Free lunchtime concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields, WC1.
The Rose Theatre, Bankside SE1 hosts a free debate about their current production, Pawnography (based on Romeo and Juliet) from 7.30pm, laced around with poetry, theatre, comedy and music.
Tuesday: Free comedy at the Horatia, Holloway Road N7 with a big mixed bad of new stand up talent. Rummage in the Comedy Bin from 8pm.
Wednesday: Heat 2 of the Roundhouse Poetry Summer Slam will have hot new spoken word talent spitting it hard and fast to get through to the final. 7pm, £2.
