Friday Quiz: London At War

It’s the 70th anniversary of Churchill’s famous ‘Few’ speech, marking victory in the Battle of Britain. The great oration will be recreated outside the Churchill War Rooms at 3.52pm today, followed by a fly-past of period aircraft.

For today’s quiz, we’re taking the wider theme of London at war, from Roman times to WWII. See if you’re a Commander-in-Chief or a petty officer when it comes to the history of conflict in our city.

Let us know in the comments how you get on.

We mentioned it at the top.

  • DeanN

Bah, six. That’ll teach me not to use a presumptious name.

    4 – yikes…

  • http://undefined Franco Milazzo

6 here too. And that was with some flukey guessing.

  • http://undefined DeanN

None of my six were guesses — the four I guessed at I got wrong-o. So I don’t feel so bad.

    5/10. Glass half full

  • http://undefined Maggsinho

    Eight out of ten here.

Six from me. I guess I’m on mess cleaning duty for the evening.

  • Dave

8/10. Bizarre, considering most were guesses.

7 – not brilliant but better than some! I had thought HMS Belfast’s guns were trained on Windsor Castle but guessed Scratchwood instead as my second choice.
