A Capital Beer Under Construction: London Brewers Porter

Right now, several London brewers are constructing a new Londony beer. At the Redemption Brewery, which we visited a couple of months ago, the self-titled 'London Brewers Alliance' (formed from brewers including Brodies, Camden Town, Fullers, Meantime, Kernel, Ha'Penny and Redemption) are collaborating to create a 'London Brewers Porter'. According to the slightly rough-around-the-edges website, the beer should balance traditional chocolatey porter overtones with a contemporary combination of English and American hops. Curious? We certainly are. The beer will be showcased at an event at Brew Wharf near Borough Market on 17th September, and a few thousand pints of the stuff will go on sale around London.
