Preview: Pleasance Islington Big Day Out

bigdayout.jpg Pleasance Islington is the southern sister of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival hub, the mighty Pleasance Courtyard. Piping up for a day of festival funnery all of its own before Edinburgh eclipses all its efforts, Pleasance Islington runs a Big Day Out! for all the family this Saturday, 10 July.

There'll be live music all day, market stalls and free entertainment from Islington Community Theatre and London Urban Collective. Sign the little ones up for Mischief Makers' protest camp and keep them creative busy for a while. With a bit of pocket money to spare, you can get your children in training for a future at the Fringe minus the rude words with James Campbell's kids' comedy show. Or watch puppets, make puppets with Penguin. Enjoy storytelling and cabaret with your littlest Londonists and those with no wee ones along might like Radio Hoohah.

Pleasance Islington has a courtyard too, shared with Woodstore Bar and Grill next door so plenty of space to eat and drink and mentally prepare for Edinburgh, if you're headed that way.

Pleasance Islington's Big Day Out! is this Saturday, 11am-11pm. Buy tickets for shows online or call the box office .
