Preview: Hide&Seek Weekender 2010

lady_ws.jpg The Hide&Seek Weekender is a free weekend of social games and playful experiences. Based around the National Theatre as part of LIFT, the weekend is packed with creative, interactive stuff to do - mostly for adults - and doesn't cost a bean. For starters, tenative gamesters can play the London Poetry Game or Walking Smiles, the walking game in the city all weekend. More committed playmates should plan carefully:

On Friday, as well as round-the-table games and spectator-friendly games, chase or be chased between different Londons with Visible Cities (7.30 pm, 2 hours).

Saturday 12 noon till 6 pm: play with sonar goggles, noise, blindfolds, musicians, adventures, puzzles, electronic devices, new sports, and loads more before party time at the ICA, with Lost & Found and Stoke Newington International Airport - pick up tickets in advance for £6, or £8 on the door.

Sunday 12 noon till 5:30 pm there are still more games, including Team Huton, pitting London against players in Delhi, an impossibly large game of Pass the Parcel, jumping around on pavement stones, strategy and silliness. And hear the new London poem that you might have contributed to.

Serious fun.

The Hide&Seek Weekender is at the National Theatre, 9-11 July. Ticket info: Free (except party on Saturday 10th - tickets are £6 or £8 on the door). Part of the LIFT Festival.
