Campaign Encourages Kids To Dabble In Art

1207_art.png Saucepans lids across the capital are being urged to "unleash their creative talents" as part of Children's Art Day, which aims to encourage kids to express themselves through painting and sculpture and, if they're lucky, aspire to a life lived in a Hackney Wick dosshouse pretending to be an artist. The idea is supported by Boris Johnson and Tracey Emin, an astute choice, as children may well look upon her oeuvre and suspect that they could do better. Children's Art Day begins on Tuesday and runs (in contradiction to how long a 'day' is) until July 18th at which point the work to clean up all the graffiti deployed by a generation of wannabe Banksys begins.
