Victoria Tube Station To Get Huge Revamp

TfL has selected a contractor for the much-needed (and much delayed) reworking of Victoria underground station. The rebuilding, to be undertaken by Vinci BAM Nuttall Limited, will see a new northern ticket hall under Bressenden Place, with work beginning next year. Further improvements include new entrances, step-free access to all platforms, and expansion of the existing ticket hall, with work concluding in 2018. The stop is the busiest on the network, and regularly suffers from overcrowding. Construction will cost a cool £700 million, or roughly £10 for every one of the 76 million passengers who use the station each year.
