Ticket Alert: Bompas and Parr's Complete History of Food

B&Pfood.jpg Heston Blumenthal's recent "Feasts" series whetted the nation's appetite for historic fare earlier in the year, and now Jellymongering duo Bompas and Parr are giving you the opportunity to experience a similar smorgasbord of culinary treats next month without the need for c-list c'leb status.

Their pioneering walk-through dining experience will enable you to spelunk through and devour key revolutionary periods in food history from London's top restaurants, in ways that Mr Wonka would have been proud of. For £25 a head, we're promised "flooded dining rooms, giant sugar sculptures, Iguanodon dinners and food that responds to your brain waves", from Medieval, Renaissance, Victorian and contemporary eras, all washed down with several cocktails.

Tickets have now gone on sale for timed entry 14th - 18th July, although if their previous events are anything to go by, these are bound to sell out soon.

If that time slot is too small for you to squeeze in all of history's culinary treasures though, grab a pot of Occult Jam - with ingredients including Absinthe, sand from the Great Pyramids, and specks of Princess Diana's hair - and spread the elixir of life onto your toast each morning. Available from from the Barbican's Surreal House exhibition shop from 24th June.
