Do you know which major traffic junction carries a memorial to Michael Faraday? Have an idea how many people officially died in the Great Fire of London? And in which film might you encounter a Camberwell Carrot?
If anyone got three out of three then, scaling up, you'd clearly have got 60 out of 60 in the Londonist Londony quiz about London, held last night at the Royal Institution in Mayfair. Six rounds of fiendish London trivia were unleashed on a packed house of head-scratchers.
Congratulations to our winners, who achieved an incredible 53 and a half in a very tough quiz. With more than 70 entrants we raised £150 for Pavement (the fantastic charity for homeless people, not the 90's band).
And thank you once again to the good people at the Museum of London, Foyles Book Shop, Oxygen Books, Shoot Experience and the Royal Institution for either setting questions, donating prizes or (in the last case) providing a beautiful venue.
We're looking to hold another quiz in mid-summer. If you represent a cultural organisation who might be interested in helping with the questions, and/or can donate London-themed prizes, get in touch with us at [email protected].
For those who couldn't attend, we've attached the picture round and questions below.
