Preview: Maddox Club Restaurant Opens To Non-Members

maddoxresize.jpg Maddox Club oozes with the elaborate decadence and extravagance you’d expect of a private members’ club in Mayfair. Not that many would know as you have to be a fully paid-up member to get in.

From July, this will no longer be the case, though. Us riff raff will be granted entrance to the club’s new upstairs restaurant to sample their take on high-end dining and mingle with regulars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, P Diddy and Paris Hilton.

Londonist got through the gates for a preview of the food on offer (though we don’t have any star spots to tell of) and it’s simple but suitably swish - what we like to think of as comfort food for the A-list. Tuna steaks, Mediterranean salads and plenty of Champagne were order of the day, and we reckon the cocktail list is worth a good perusal.

Something has to pay for the stylish surroundings and hand & foot service, and if you’re dining and drinking like the regulars, it’s not going to be cheap. But at £35 for three courses the set menu is far from elitist.

You’ll find Maddox at 3-5 Mill Street W1S 2AU. The restaurant’s open from Wednesday to Saturday and food is served into the early hours so you don’t have to rush the pre-dinner drinks. Visit the Maddox website for more details.
