New Statue Celebrates 300 Years Of St Paul's

A new equine sculpture by Bruce Denny will stand, nay, rear up, outside St Paul's cathedral to mark 300 years since the landmark's official completion. The work shows a stunned St Paul (or 'Paul' as he was known at the time) falling from his horse after being blinded by the Light of God on the Road to Damascus. The tumbling apostle can be found in St Paul's church yard from September. In the meantime, you can watch a video of the sculptor describing how he values art that can “generate an immediate emotional response in the viewer, without the need of a third party to explain what they should or should not be feeling - or what the piece is about.” Amen to that.
