Dizzee Rascal Records England Anthem

1008_dizzee.jpg The Lightning Seeds. John Barnes. Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle. The marriage of football and pop music has killed more reputations than an undercover Screws reporter. This sorry history doesn't concern Dizzee Rascal, who is recording an unofficial England anthem with actor James Corden. Under the auspices of Simon Cowell, the pair are to re-record Tears for Fears' Shout, a synth-tastic Eighties protest song that wouldn't normally suggest itself for World Cup duty. Dizzee, not always known for his sporting enthusiasm, phones in a derisory rap on the track, though rumours that Theo Walcott is playing drums in a last-ditch effort to grab a cupful of reflected glory turn out to be false. All proceeds from the single will go to Great Ormond Street hospital.
