Club Preview: The Forbidden Forest @ Proud Camden

TOTU_june2010.jpg Looking for a fairytale ending to your Friday night? Have a furtle around in Proud Camden's Forbidden Forest, where you'll find a little something for anyone hidden away in the nooks and crannies of Camden's famous stables. This week's Tales of The Unexpected features a mix of folk, electro and pop music from DJs Ollie Russian and the Dixon Brothers, and a live set from "alternative surf New Wave group" The Collectable Few playing what they term "palm tree pop" in the Main Gig Room.

Not getting your fill of weddings this summer? The cheesetastic selection of vinyl being spun by All Night Long DJ's Ben & Gaz in the South Gallery (that's the one on your left as you go in) will keep you dancing like a drunk uncle late into the night. Last week, the promised "wild crew of woodland creatures, amorous nymphs, fierce centaurs, flame throwers and snake charmers" seemed a little too shy to show their faces (or maybe they were just tucked up in bed early), but the stable booths - replete with Saturday Night Fever style dance floors, dancing poles and the odd jukebox if you're lucky - were packed out with revellers in their finery. Expect to see the odd Cinderella abandonning her footwear in the rush to catch the last pumpkin home before her prince turns back into a frog though.

£8 before 9, £10 after 9 - or get some mates together and sign up to their guestlist online or by emailing Jamie for free entry before 9. Expect the usual photo ID guff at the door, and don't get narky when they ask you for an email address, 'cos the doorstaff have probably heard it all before.
