2012 Legacy Lottery Boost

The new Olympics minister, Hugh Robertson, has announced a £50m a year Lottery boost for mass participation in sport by 2012. Legal changes to the way National Lottery money is distributed means community sports projects will soon vie for 20% (up from 16%) of the Lottery funds available in the hope of instilling "cradle to grave" activity in the population. In very practical terms, that community wiff waff table, team kit or trampolining lessons you've been hankering after may well appear as a tangible legacy of London 2012. Find out about funding for community sports projects at Sport England.
