Update On Today's Circle Line Meltdown

circle line1.jpg This morning the Circle line did what most of us wished we'd done and had another long lie-in: the entire route was shut down because of what TfL described as a "computer failure" at Aldgate station. The failure also knocked out the Hammersmith & City line between Moorgate and Barking. TfL are keeping tight-lipped about when the Circle will re-open, and at present there is no service between Mansion House and Edgware Road via Liverpool Street, and on-going delays on the rest of the line. Check the live travel news for the latest, and expect to see hastily drawn-up notices tonight apologising for the delays, though truth be told, most Circle line commuters probably expect such shoddy service, particularly since the troublesome extension to Hammersmith opened.
