Ride The Replica Rocket Steam Train In Kensington Gardens

stephensonsrocket.jpg Looking for some steamy industrial fun this weekend? We choo-choo-choose this replica of George Stephenson’s Rocket, which is currently doing the rounds (literally) in Kensington Gardens. The ‘Mocket’, as we shall dub it, takes passengers on a short ride around part of the gardens for just £5 (adult) or £2.50 (kids). Unless you’re Prince Philip, this is perhaps your only opportunity to ride something that’s featured on a five pound note. When you’re done, go visit the original Rocket (from 1829) at the Science Museum, currently celebrating its centenary. The ride will be in place until 18 April. I almost spat tea all over my computer monitor at the Prince Philip comment.
