Poetry Preview: You Are Here @ Kings Place

youarehereposter.jpg You Are Here hits London in a fortnight with a poetry show from a trio of poets offering a 'live literature' experience. The London Word Festival has done lots to increase our appetite for poetry in performance but it has also raised the bar for engaging wordy events so it's great to see that 'You Are Here' looks set to be a cool, curated affair at classy Kings Place.

The one hour show, featuring Colette Bryce, Daljit Nagra and Jo Shapcott, has been on tour around the UK. Everywhere they've gone, they've noticed the legend 'you are here' which is perhaps helpful when touring poems that probe identity, autobiography and disguise. Designed with a subtle soundtrack and mood enhancing lighting, the following feedback gives you a more qualitative idea of what to expect than any PR guff ever could:

'Language lapping, larking - loved it!'

'Delicious, cheeky, enchanting, quirky, uplifting'

'Priceless, baby!' (in context, that's a quote from one of Daljit's poems)

And, our favourite: 'I thought more than usual!'

You Are Here takes place at Kings Place on Monday 26 April, 7pm. Tickets £9.50. Will you be there?
