Museum of London Docklands Now Free

Since it first lowered gantry in 2003, the Museum of London Docklands has demanded a fiver from adult visitors. Not any more. The nautical institution in West India Quay is now free for anyone to visit, in harmony with its sister museum (the Museum of London) over at the Barbican. For the benefit of strangers to the galleries, the MoL Docklands provides a history of the river and its dock yards, roping in tales of commerce, slavery, immigration and the Blitz. With free entry to other London museums potentially on a post-election chopping block, this is a welcome move that should see more people venturing to this excellent venue.
