London Booze @ The Alma

Hot on the heels of the St George's Day beer fest at the nearby Lord Clyde, The Alma up the 73 bus route in Newington Green are to regale its punters with a fine selection of London brewed ales this weekend. The beers hail from Twickenham, Tottenham, Battersea & Leyton and include the incomparable Wandle of the Sambrookes Brewery. The tasting notes include such poetic descriptions as 'fuggles in the cooper and fuggles in the cask'! Can any Londonist readers (and ale geeks) possibly guess the beer based on those words alone? The Bonfire Band will be playing on Sunday night, pints are all £3, the staff are ace, and with 10% discount for CAMRA members it could be very dangerous - enjoy!
