Buy Ferris Bueller's Car at Auction in Hendon

"It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

So says Ferris Bueller of the Ferrari 250GT Spyder California he "borrows" in the classic film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

As big fans of the movie, the news that the car is on sale in London this month really made us smile.

For an estimated £30,000-40,000, you can "pick one up" at auction, on 19 April, at the RAF Museum in Hendon. The car on sale is a replica of the Ferrari Ferris uses to the full in his day skipping school in Chicago in the 1980s. Which is pretty fitting as the film used a replica too. (There were only around 100 genuine 250GT Spyder California's created by Ferrari, and they were too rare and expensive to be used in the film.)

But how cool would it be to be able to drive around in this? Careful you don't fall in love with it too much; in years to come, you may find your teenage son having a tantrum, kicking the tyres, screaming: "Who do you love? Who do you love? You love a car!"

"A man with priorities so far out of whack doesn't deserve such a fine automobile." Ferris, we love you.
