What's Up, Ducks?

Wanstead locals and animal lovers are dismayed by a mystery blight on Victoria Lake wildlife where over 70 birds have suddenly died in recent days. The birds were found with no discernible cause of death; the number and suddenness has prompted tests on the carcasses by the Central Veterinary Laboratory. Rather like the middle section of CSI: Wanstead, conclusions are yet to be drawn and we can only speculate on what could be harming the wildlife of E12. Not only wildlife have come to harm; a dog died after a five minute run around the area. Something is definitely up - we'll report back once we know what's led to this sad loss of pond (and pet) life. Image author's own
