Preview: Neither Am I Book Launch

neitherami.jpg Last seen at Review during the Peckham Literary Festival, mysterious masked lit collective, Neither Am I, are building up to the launch of a new book.

On Friday 26th March consider attending their free launch event and reading of "drum'n'prose, verse-core and frankly annoying atonal sound poems". They admit their contributor base comprises, "the editor of a national newspaper, a bestselling Mills and Boon writer and a bulbous-headed high brow literary prick who everybody hates" but you won't know because they're anonymous. We're also doubtful that special guests "Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey, Terry Wogan, Desmond Tutu and Hale & Pace" will actually turn up. Especially given among the testimonials is "I endorse this product and/or service" - Martin Amis.

But if you show up, you might get a "tuckerization". That's lit wonk speak for being featured in one of the stories read live on the night. Should this appeal to your vanity or sense of the absurd, simply email neither_am_i@yahoo.com with your (or your loved one's) full name and the subject line "Tucker me up". Three names will be pulled from a hat at the crucial point.

If you're confused and a little afraid already then turn away from this nonsense and listen to some of the stories. Start with I Say Itsa, a hypnotically well read tale of a drug fuelled early nineties house party that had us totally engrossed and well up for dropping some pills. If they can keep this quality up, we'll have a good time, tuckered or no. Booze will be available and there will be DJs.

See you in Stockwell for more stories.

Neither Am I book launch event is on Friday 26th March @ The Cavendish Arms, Stockwell, 8pm - 1am (literary performance starts at 9.30pm). Pre-event spodcasts can be downloaded from www.neitherami.com.
