London Is Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland has seeped into our city with characters plastered all over our buses and the film doing tidy business at the flicks. Whatever you think of the Deppification of this supposed sequel to Lewis Caroll's classic, fans of its topsy turvy and downright disturbing world should know about 2 'very important dates':

Jamm in Brixton transforms into Wonderland on Saturday 20th March for a reprise of the charity Mad Hatters Tea Party for Oxfam. Mad Hats and Moustaches invites you to step through that looking glass and find cupcakes, 'jamm' tarts, fictional characters causing mischief, unusual entertainers, lights, hats, dancing, teapots, fancy dress and more. Tickets are £7 in advance and the madness lasts from 8pm till 4am. In aid of The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation.

The following week you can attempt a modern retelling of the original Alice through photographs with a specially story themed Shoot Portobello. Get out and about with a group of mates, pack some eat me and some drink me and let your Cheshire Cat grins lead you round Notting Hill as you creatively capture the classic tale. Portobello Market will surely prove a treasure trove of curiouser and curiouser props, set and inspiration. You do not need to be David Bailey to have a brilliant time on a Shoot Experience. Find out more and register now for Sunday 28th March at The Tabernacle, Powis Square, Notting Hill, London, W11 2AY.
