It's not just Argentine ice cream and coffee bar, Freggo, that'll be offering cakey, flat treats for free (with a coffee purchase) on the 16th. Here are a couple of westerly opportunities to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

From 8-9am outside of Gloucester Road Tube Station, folks from the Crowne Plaza Kensington will be serving freshly made and complimentary lemon and sugar pancakes. If you're in the area but miss out on the freebies, the Crowne Plaza's StreetSide Restaurant will be showcasing a pancake menu throughout the day. Consider swinging by for the likes of crepe suzette for £3 or Lincolnshire Poacher Farmhouse Cheddar and honey roast ham for £4.95.

Up the road a bit on Kensington Church Street, My Old Dutch will host a pancake eating competition which starts at 10.30am. The restaurant will also sell Poffertjes (small, traditional Dutch pancakes) on the day. Check the news page of the My Old Dutch website for details about the contest.
