One Week To Go - Team Londonist Storms Tower 42
Doing this for finely-tuned thighs of steel and wondrous shapely calfs (calves?!), all the time hoping that childhood asthma doesn't return in the process. Her last physical challenge since the Venture Scouts Downsman overnight hike in the early nineties, so she's both excited and appalled in equal measure at the prospect of the 42 floors.

Climbing Tower 42 for the same reasons people climb Everest really - although she hopes privately not to need oxygen at the top.

Back this year to defend his Londonist record against the new challengers, and he's not above playing dirty. Plus he really really likes the Siefert-designed Tower 42 and will appreciate the sparse minimalism of its fire escape staircase, particularly in these last days of its 31 year reign as the City's tallest building.

Flailing in James' wake will be CRAiG. He Loves heights. Stick him anywhere high up and he'll be happy. It's just a shame he has to run up 920 steps to get there. Once there, he's not likely to leave and hopes that won't be a problem.

Training is now well under way, so with one week to go it's time to get to know the intrepid Londonist team that will be representing you next Thursday (25th) at Tower 42.

And what a competitive hotbed the team is turning out to be - with lovely matching t-shirts and everything.

You're very welcome to come laugh at the limping next Thursday (Team Londonist kicks off at 10.30am), but if you fell out of bed the right side this morning then we'd love your help to scale the dizzy heights of our fund-raising target for Shelter. We've raised 56% of it so far.
