Lecture Preview: Legends Behind The Corpse Of Jeremy Bentham

Have you ever seen the corpse of Jeremy Bentham? The philosopher's cadaver, known for obscure reasons as an 'autoicon', has long been on display in UCL cloisters, as requested in his final will and testament. Over the years, many legends have girdled this morbid oddment. Some say Bentham's ghost haunts the nearby corridors. Others claim the human remnant is wheeled into council meetings, where he's listed on the minutes but never votes. In one popular story (which we've had verified by academics), the Benthamic bonce was once stolen by students from King's and knocked about like a football. The verity of the philosopher's post-necrotic adventures, and his no-less eventful lifetime, will be discussed at a free lunch time lecture tomorrow (11 Feb) at UCL.
