Welcome Little Fishes In

nofishing.jpg The Environment Agency are releasing 750 fish into south-east London rivers today and tomorrow (we do hope they've got scarves and little flipper mittens on). Chub and dace are going into the Pool and Ravensbourne, and crucian carp and tench are finding a new home at Canada Water on Wednesday. It's all part of the EA's plan to conserve our rivers and bring "socio-economic benefits" (we think they mean fishing) and it's proof positive that our waterways are getting cleaned up. So long as the fish avoid the semi-regular sewage spills, they should do very nicely. (Image / James Merry)
