Little-known forward Rocky Baptiste earned himself a ticket to posterity in the annals of footballing lore last month by producing what is perhaps the most unbelievable miss in the history of the sport.
Playing for Harrow Borough against Waltham Abbey in a Ryman Premier Division encounter, Baptiste found himself a yard of space, skipped past the last defender and rounded the goalkeeper, leaving himself with plenty of time in front of the goal to score a simple tap-in.
Unfortunately, instead of rolling the ball over the line and wheeling away in celebration, Baptiste waited until the ball was mere inches from the line before leathering it... and put it wide.
Borough won the match 5-3, but Baptiste will struggle to live this down: the video has gone viral, with 3.5 million views on YouTube thus far.
