TfL Takeover Of Tube Lines Rumoured

bus1.jpg Not according to Tube Lines, who say that’s up to their shareholders. Reports at the weekend suggested that TfL are looking at ways of ending the public-private partnership (PPP) but Tube Lines deny an offer is on the table. After Dean Finch’s somewhat lukewarm apology last week and Boris Johnson’s condemnation of the PPP, it would hardly be a surprise to learn that TfL wanted to get off that barrel they’ve been over and maybe even get the Jubilee Line mended in a slightly more timely fashion. It has been said so many times over the past few years that PPP just doesn’t work and it is now proving to be correct. The Jubilee line is a clear example that track and station maintenance needs to be in house.
