Shoot and Eat: Gordon Ramsay Plane Food

This doesn't look like airport food. Flying out of the Big Smoke a few weeks ago we found ourselves in LHR Terminal 5, home to Gordon Ramsay's first foray into airport catering. A delicious, moist, slow roasted cod (pictured above) was served with crushed peas and polenta chips with a spicy tomato "ketchup". Definitely more than passable fish cakes (below) were full of salmon and haddock and came with rocket and harissa aioli, which needed a bit more of a kick. Desserts were equally agreeable - the pear tarte tatin was a bit too lukewarm for our liking but tasted fabulous. Overall, quite a lovely meal and pleasant way to pass the time between security and boarding. The £1.50 cover charge is a bit much though and needs reconsidering, we think.

I'm not Gordons biggest fan, but I do really like the concept.
