Santa's Lap: Vintage Postcards

postcards.jpg Every day until Christmas the Londonist team will be pointing you in the direction of a Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won't already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we'll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings...

What a gorgeous gift for a Londonphile. 18 vintage images of our fair city, ranging from the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus and Fleet Street leading to St Paul's, are all printed on that lovely old-fashioned, thick cream paper. It's faux-old, but for £8.95 and a decorative tin to keep them in, what more do you want?

Horsfall and Wright have a fairly impressive line of Londony stuff and you can visit their shop in Wanstead (close to Snaresbrook tube). We particularly like the build-your-own black cab, and this underground map cushion nearly sent us crazy trying to work out which year it's from (it still calls Barbican Aldersgate, but doesn't have the Aldwych extension. Argh!). Eventually we decided to get a life and stop trying to figure it out.

Tin of vintage postcards, £8.95 from Horsfall and Wright.
