Santa's Lap: Specialist London Prints

OandL.jpg Every day until Christmas the Londonist team will be pointing you in the direction of a Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won't already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we'll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings...

Font and typography fans rejoice! We've found these London inspired original prints from artisan letterpress studio New North Press. The studio specialises in artists' books, portfolios and print editions, producing hand set prints from their Albion press and range of wooden and metal typefaces. New North Press has been operating for 20 years, producing commissioned work, etchings, woodcuts, linocuts and workshops in various typesetting and printing techniques. Seriously, this is old, old, old school. And it all looks great.

What we're particularly recommending for Christmas is the series of ready to purchase prints made in collaboration with artist Richard Ardargh. Commemorative poster for Wilton's Music Hall, the music hall's foundation stone poem, a very charming print with the much-loved London nursery rhyme 'Oranges and Lemons' and the song 'The 'Ouses In Between' which namechecks 'Ackney Marshes and Chingford. Order now and give the font and typography fan in your life prints in shining amour.
