Considering some learning for self improvement amongst those new year's resolutions? If the Medicine Man galleries at Wellcome Collection enthral you this could be right up your street: an 11 week course on the history of the human body in Europe using artefacts from the Collection along the way.

The course looks at birth and death; body and soul; male and female bodies; pleasure and pain; medical understanding of the body and popular beliefs; race, gender, class and age; 'abnormal' bodies; and the body beautiful.

Accredited by Birkbeck completion of the course will give you 15 CATS points at level 4 as well as very special access and insight into the extraordinary Collection.

Starting on Thursday 14 January, 6-8pm at Wellcome it runs for 11 weeks. If you have an undergraduate qualification it'll cost you £200/£100 and if not, a mere £175/£90. Enrol now.
